A hectic night of packing, a restless bivy, and an alarm wakes us at 3:00 A.M. We carry our bags to the approach... To the airport! Yes, it was an 'alpine start' to our journey across the country. And we're glad to say we've touched down in BC.
Greeted at the airport by our friend Jackie, we temporarily unloaded our 350 lbs of gear at her house and headed for the city. Naturally, we headed straight to the Vancouver Aquarium where Nick taught us about sea anemones and we developed an uncanny appetite for seafood. We left and went to sample Vancouver's famous sushi.
An alpine start and journey to the Left Coast where Jackie picked us up. Thanks, Jackie!
Unfortunately the jet lag caught up to us quickly and Nick picked up a stomach bug. We figured something was awry when, pale as a ghost, he keeled over on Hastings Street and barfed. We quickly made our way to my friend Hunter's place where he could rest and recover.
Nick started looking queezy so we went to Hunter's house where Nick could recuperate. Thanks, Hunter!
A false start to the trip? Perhaps. But rest assured we'll be on our way again before you can say 'Gravol.'
We are Daniel, David, Nick & Erik.
