On Monday evening, July 18th, Daniel and I (Nick), took a trip to Victoria on a whim. There were two vans in the area that we were really interested in, and if we waited any longer, they likely would have sold. Our good friend Seamus is living with his uncle John in Victoria for the summer, so we asked a huge favour: to stay the night at John's house, and borrow Seamus' car the next day to go look at vans. Despite the short notice, and the fact that boisterous guests had been staying at the house all weekend, Seamus and John agreed. Thanks to their outstanding generosity, Daniel and I were able to go look at two vans in the area. The first we saw was encouraging, and could have been adapted to our needs. However, the second van wowed us. Within a couple of hours, a retired fisherman named Dave gracefully sold us his van.
The passport dilemmaDespite having paid for the van, we could do nothing with it until it was insured in Daniel's name; thus, we needed his passport. Seamus gladly loaned his car to us for a second day in a row, but how to get the passport to Victoria? Jacqui to the rescue! Luckily, we contacted Jacqui and she had the day off. In great generosity, she agreed to bring to the passport to Harbour Air, which flies a passenger plane between Vancouver and Victoria every 20 minutes. By late afternoon, we finished with insurance, put on new plates, and the van was ours! So now we have a van! And she is a beauty. Thanks to Jacqui, Seamus, and John for going so far out of their way to help us make it happen. We owe you guys big time! - Nick

What a great story. There's an old expression about how people make the world go round. We can have all the technology in the world, and piles of money, but what makes life most worthwhile are the people who are willing to go out of their way to help. I am so glad the Chossboys Boys have angels to help on the journey.

Congratulations on the new van. It looks prepared for an adventure You have room to eat, sleep, store things and even listen to music. It seems as though you also have a bit of luck on your side. Hope your trip to Squamish goes well!
