Throughout the trip and since we returned home to Newfoundland, the Choss Boys have had a couple opportunities to practice our public relation skills.
http://ici.radio-canada.ca/tele/mechante-soiree/2016-2017/episodes/377658/christian-kit-goguen-ryan-doucette-daniel-alacoque The recording of the show was on Tuesday, March 21st. I prepared by writing out interview answers and Choss Boy anecdotes in French and had my mom review it. Getting words on paper helped but I felt generally unprepared for all the potential climbing terms in French. The day started with a seemingly endless four-hour layover in Halifax on the way to Moncton. I arrived at the Crown Plaza hotel at 5 PM and sank into the bed for a short nap before showering and getting ready. Make up was at 7 PM. The show takes place at a famous bar in downtown Moncton called The Tide and Boar. It has a great selection of local micro-brews and fancy-looking pub food. When I arrived, the bar was full, the stage was setup, and CBC techs were hustling around in preparation. I was ushered upstairs to meet the team and the two other people being interviewed. In the end, the interview was relaxed, fun, and I didn't even have to explain any complex climbing techniques in French. The hosts, Samuel and Rejean, made me feel really comfortable and the other invitees on the show, Christian Kit Goguen (musician) and Ryan Doucette (comedian), were personable and funny. The show was a great experience to practice my public speaking in French and I met some fun and hilarious Acadians in Moncton!

C'est une entrevue fantastique! Grace aux questions de l'animateur, J'ai finalement apris la significance et l'origine de votre nom de groupe "Choss Boys". Félicitations bien sincères. This is a pretty good TV show all in all!

Nicely done Daniel! And, um, next adventure... El Cap in a day! Awesome - that's a great goal to work towards.
